Vintage Hand-Painted Macau Chinese Export Porcelain Rectangular Dresser Box
Up for sale is a beautiful, substantial vintage Chinese export porcelain trunk-style jewelry or trinket box. This piece features a striking hand-painted design consisting of pastel pink and blue floral bouquets accented by an embossed, flowing yellow and green ribbon border. The sides of the container are equally detailed with continuous blue blossom trailing vines.
This classic piece represents a distinct chapter in Chinoiserie export history from the 1970s–1980s gift trade. It was produced as a white porcelain "blank" in mainland China and then sent to Macau where local artisans expertly decorated it using thick, glossy polychrome enamels.
A Perfect Accent Piece:
With its soft pastel colorway and classic floral design, this box is a gorgeous addition to Grandmillennial, Cottagecore, or Shabby Chic home decor. It makes a beautiful statement piece for a vanity, dresser, entryway table, or styled bookshelf.
Bottom Markings:
• Retains its original metallic gold foil sticker reading: "Porcelain Blank Made in China - Hand Painted in Macau"
• Stamped with the traditional iron-red Chinese seal/character mark
• Stamped in red: "For Decorative Purpose Only - Not For Food Use"
Condition Details:
In excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. The hand-painted enameling remains vibrant with minimal surface wear. The raw unglazed underside rim shows minor shelf age/scuffing as expected from display. Please see all photographs for exact detail and dimensions.
