Vintage Soviet Red Army / USSR khaki military field or service jacket featuring period-style Soviet star buttons with hammer-and-sickle emblem and red-piped shoulder boards (pogony).
The shoulder-board style was introduced into the Red Army during WWII in 1943. Based on the construction, materials, hardware and overall appearance, this jacket appears to date from the WWII to early postwar Soviet period, approximately 1940s–1950s.
Exact production date is unknown, and no clearly readable manufacturer/date markings have been located, so it is being offered as WWII-era/early Soviet military rather than guaranteed specifically 1943–45.
Constructed from a heavy/coarse khaki cotton-type fabric with full front opening, large lower pockets, long sleeves and substantial shoulder boards edged in red piping.
Soviet military buttons display the five-pointed star and hammer-and-sickle design. Shoulder boards presently have no rank devices attached.
This is an as-found, well-used military garment and has not been restored. It shows considerable age and service/storage wear including staining, discoloration, fading, soiling, small holes/tears, loose threads, worn areas and missing buttons/fasteners.
