Original vintage automobile coin bank manufactured by Banthrico Inc. of Chicago, Illinois, modeled after a 1928 Chevrolet pickup truck.
This substantial cast-metal bank measures approximately 6 inches long × 2.75 inches wide × 3 inches tall and features an impressively detailed early Chevrolet pickup design with:
* Embossed radiator grille
* Separate headlight detailing
* Running boards
* Deep pickup bed
* Spoked-style wheels
* Black-painted tires
* Front and rear “1928” license plate details

Banthrico was well known for producing detailed metal automobile banks during the mid-20th century, including its Antique Auto Coin Bank series. This 1928 Chevrolet pickup design is documented in the Banthrico line by approximately 1974.
This particular example is the attractive unlettered / blank-roof version, rather than one of the numerous examples customized with advertising for individual banks or financial institutions. The clean roof leaves the original truck design uninterrupted and makes it particularly appealing as an automobilia or Chevrolet display piece.
The body has a warm aged antique brass / bronze-tone finish with naturally developed patina.
