Up for your consideration is a remarkable, one-of-a-kind piece of vintage Western Americana. This striking Mid-Century Modern mantel clock features an authentic natural onyx stone slab body with a gorgeous, heavily banded agate texture. The top of the clock features a beautiful raw live edge, resting firmly on a rustic, double-tiered chiseled stone base. It is a substantial, heavy statement piece weighing exactly 3 pounds and 7.3 ounces.
The face of the clock features a beautifully composed mixed-media scene perfect for any cabin, lodge, or rustic home decor. A highly detailed decoupage cutout of a majestic bull elk is seamlessly integrated into a hand-painted autumn forest background, complete with textured mountain trees and wild tall grass. To ensure the artwork lasts for generations, the entire front face and the raised gold Arabic numbers are completely sealed and protected beneath a thick, high-gloss clear epoxy glaze.
Flipped around to the back, the clock is driven by a high-quality, vintage SKP Japan quartz movement (stamped with NO 0 JEWELS) featuring a unique translucent clear housing and a manual mechanical start/stop switch. It has been fitted with a fresh battery, thoroughly tested, and is in excellent, accurate working condition with an elegant set of gold filigree cathedral hands.
