$159.99
Up for sale/sale is an authentic, original World War II Imperial Japanese Type 30 Bayonet complete with its original metal scabbard. This battle-tested piece of history was standard issue for the Imperial Japanese Army to accompany the iconic Arisaka Type 38 and Type 99 rifles.
Arsenal & Markings:
The right ricasso features a crisp, distinct stamping of the "four stacked cannonballs" cloverleaf emblem, identifying it as a product of the Kokura Army Arsenal. The configuration dates this weapon to the early-to-mid-war production run (circa 1935–1943) before Japan heavily simplified its weapons manufacturing.
Design Features:
• Early/Mid-War Hooked Quillon: Features the classic swept-back hooked crossguard designed to trap opposing blades.
• Contoured Wooden Hilt: Fitted with the beautifully shaped, contoured wooden grip scales and curved "bird’s head" metal pommel characteristic of mid-war production.
• Fullered Blade: The blade is ground with a deep, clean longitudinal fuller ("blood groove").
• Original Steel Scabbard: Includes the matching tubular steel scabbard in solid shape.
Condition:
This bayonet is in original, uncleaned, field-used condition. The blade is straight and smooth, displaying beautiful natural dark patination and original factory grinding marks alongside minor superficial surface wear. The contoured wooden grips show authentic handling wear, standard field dings, and a rich, aged color. The locking button on the pommel remains intact. The scabbard displays honest frontline combat wear with a dark patina and minor cosmetic scuffs, matching the bayonet perfectly.
