This rare antique 19th century French nécessaire travel companion cleverly combines a scent bottle, a needle case, and a vanity mirror into a single pocket sized luxury.
The exterior features an exquisite high relief depiction of Joan of Arc in full armor on the front face, flanked by heraldic fleur de lis motifs.
The reverse is deeply chased with a dense, repeated semé of fleur de lis pattern. A tiny hinged dome cap at the top opens to reveal a traditional internal perfume glass well or flask. When the dual winged silver doors are unlatched, one side unfolds to reveal a pristine, bevel edged vanity mirror, while the opposing side opens to an opulent, gold vermeil interior housing an integrated filigree needle bracket holding original steel sewing pins.
