Antique (late 19th, early 20th century) German Roemer wine glass featuring a beautiful hand-painted inscription in old German script, encircled with delicate red and white enamel details. The glass is a classic smoky olive green color, with a thick stem adorned with decorative applied prunts. This glass would likely have been in a set with a punch bowl (not available) and was likely made by Theresienthal, although tit is not marked. The glass is adorned with classic German drinking toast and proverbs associated with celebratory drinking. It reads, "Ob roth, ob weiss, gleichviel ist er mir" (Whether red or white, it's all the same to me". )
CONDITION: VERY GOOD
(Poor-->Fair-->Good-->Very Good-->Excellent-->Mint):
No chips or cracks. A few bubbles. Enameling is nice and clear.
MARKINGS: None.
MEASUREMENTS: Stand a little over 7.25" tall, Hold about 5 fl oz.
