Antique Victorian 19th Century Tintype cabinet cards - cartes de visitePhotograph Album with 19 Portraits – Green Velvet Cover & Ornate Brass Clasp
An attractive antique Victorian-era miniature photograph album, likely dating to the late 19th century, approximately 1860s–1890s.
The album features a decorative green fabric-covered binding with embossed ornamental designs, an oval color illustration of a young child holding a dog on the front cover, and an ornate brass-tone metal clasp.
Inside are antique photographic portraits mounted in decorative cream-colored album pages with purple double-line borders. The photographs appear to include tintypes (ferrotypes), a popular 19th-century photographic process producing direct positive images on thin metal sheets.
The visible portraits depict Victorian-era men, women, and children in period clothing, including a gentleman wearing a wide-brimmed hat and holding a cigar, children in formal attire, and a woman wearing an elaborate bonnet.
