Here is a recent estate find. This is a Rare Antique Working 19th Century Gilbert"Parole" Victorian Walnut Parlor Mantel Shelf Clock with Alarm, made by the Wm. L. GilbertClock Company Winsted Conn USA, Circa 1881. It has a Walnut Wood Case with Ornate Carved Designs and Decorative Top with Applied Side Trim, and Reverse Painted Glass Tablet with Victorian Angel Griffins. The Original Gilbert Maker's Label is on the Back. The Dial is the Original Paper Over Tin Dial with Roman Numerals and Center Alarm Cutout. It has an Gilbert Brass Mechanical 8 Day "Time and Strike" Key Wound Movement with Cathedral Coil Spring Gong Chime, which is Signed "Wm. L. Gilbert Clock Co. Winsted Conn USA". There are 2 Winding Arbors, and It includes a Winding Key and Brass Adjustable Victorian Regulator Pendulum. The Clock measures approx. 18 1/2" Tall x 12 1/2" Wide x 5" Deep.
