Christmas during the Ford years were grand events due to the bicentennial of the country. Betty Ford gave out Jefferson cups as flower holders at Senate Wives luncheons etc. This cup was likely given at one of those, or similar functions.
Cup is in good shape. Some scratches due to age. Engraving is very visible.
