Montblanc John F. Kennedy Fountain Pen Masterpiece.Identified and certified with the piece 21 of 83 Limited EditionJohn F. Kennedy was 35th president of the United States of America from 1961-1963.This pen is a art masterpiece, as part of the Montblanc Fountain 83 (Eighty Three) Collection,launched on Presidents Day 2012.
The pen has the following features:
- In remembrance of his time in the White House, the mechanics of the writing instrument is engraved with the dates of his presidency. As an iconic symbol of America, the White House itself inspired the relief decoration of the cap top. the American flag, too, shows its colors in the red and blue rings, while the its stars and stripes decorate the cap window. In memory of the presidential campaign of 1960, the motto "A Time For Greatness" is engraved in the cap ring.
- In 25 May 1961, Kennedy announced his ambitious space program to a joint session of Congress in a special message, saying, "I believe that this nation should commit itself to achieving the goal, before this decade is out, of landing a man on the moon and returning him safely to the Earth." Kennedy's vision is symbolized in the John F. Kennedy limited edition 83 by skeletonized surface of the barrel inspired by the windows of the Apollo 11 space capsule.
- As a further symbol of his exiting time, in the nation's history, the handcrafted 750 gold nib bears an engraving of the Lunar's Module and the Montblanc emblem in the moonstone crowns the cap
