Vintage Soviet Electric Desk Fan – 1950s USSR – Professional Restoration
Up for sale is a beautifully restored iconic Soviet electric desk fan, originally manufactured in the USSR during the late 1950s (by the Yaroslavl Electromechanical Plant). This piece perfectly combines early Soviet industrial design with a fresh, premium look, making it a stellar addition to any Mid-Century Modern, Industrial, or Loft-style interior.
### 🛠️ RESTORATION & CONDITION DETAILS:
* **Professional Repaint:** The fan was fully disassembled, thoroughly sanded to bare metal, and professionally repainted using a high-quality bronze/brown hammer-tone finish. It looks absolutely stunning and is fully protected against rust.
* **Flawless Mechanical Performance:** The 220V asynchronous motor has been carefully inspected, cleaned, and lubricated. It runs incredibly smoothly and whisper-quiet, with no rattling, clicking, or unusual vibrations.
* **Safe Rubber Blades:** Features its original soft, flexible black rubber blades. They are in excellent vintage condition with no cracks. Thanks to this clever Soviet design, the fan can be safely operated without a metal grill guard.
* **Upgraded Wiring & Hardware:** For better structural durability, the old rusted structural screws were replaced with robust modern hex bolts.
* **Authentic Vintage Cord Upgrade:** The original degraded wiring has been replaced with a well-preserved, slightly later-era authentic Soviet power cord. It features a iconic blue plastic plug stamped with the original state-regulated USSR price: "Ц.17К." (Price: 17 Kopecks)—a fantastic historical artifact of the Soviet planned economy!
### ⚠️ IMPORTANT DETAILS TO NOTE BEFORE BUYING:
* **No Bottom Markings:** Please note that during the meticulous sanding and rust-removal process of the heavy cast metal base, the original factory stamp/embossing on the bottom was completely smoothed out.
* **Directional/Non-Oscillating:** This is a classic stationary model. It does NOT automatically turn from side to side (no internal oscillation gear). It blows in one fixed direction, but you can manually adjust the vertical tilt angle by loosening the neck bolt.
* **Voltage (220V):** This fan runs on standard **220-240V / 50Hz** power. If you are purchasing this from the USA, Canada, Japan, or any other country with a 110V grid, **YOU WILL NEED A STEP-UP VOLTAGE TRANSFORMER** to operate it safely.
### 📦 SHIPPING & PACKAGING:
Due to the heavy cast-iron/alloy base, this fan is quite solid and heavy (approx. 2.5-3 kg). It will be packed with professional care using heavy-duty bubble wrap and a sturdy box to ensure it arrives at your doorstep in absolutely perfect condition.
