Verytalented artist Konovalov from the village of Palekh has painted this scenewith a winter troika (three horse sleigh) speeding through the Russiancountryside. A couple hides from the snowstorm in the sleigh while a driverencourages the horses. Gold paint is used to detail the sledge, the characters\'costumes and the horses\' harnesses, manes and tails.
The scene is framed with a nice golden dot ornament. The box\'s sides aredecorated with rich golden ornament. The box is constructed from paper-mache.Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquercompletes the interior of the work.
