This is a stained-glass parlor scope by award-winning scope maker, Nedra Reed

This is a parlor scope, which has an attached stand. These parlor scopes were very popular in Victorian times and have resurged in popularity with interest in kaleidoscope collecting.

This scope is made of both a beautiful white iridescent Iridescent glass is a highly reflective glass with a rainbow-like sheen. On the sides are dichroic glass squiggles that were melted onto the white glass in the kiln. The squiggles were first formed by pulling dichroic glass in front of a torch. The base is a beautiful black iridescent glass. It has two glass \"puddles\", which were created by this artist.***

The scope is about 8 inches high from table to eye piece and about 8 inches from eye piece to the dish which holds the items to be viewed. It is decorated with brass wire, glass globs and decorative solder.

This is a fantastic kaleidoscope because it has really clear and endless images. You turn the dish, which is on a swivel, and you can put anything you want into it. (well, maybe not an elephant!) I am including a starter kit which has a dragonfly, seashells, a frog charm , colored feathers, beads, fused glass and other things. Look for the items in the pictures.

****** Puddles are my new creations. I layer glass and melt it in the kiln. Then I break that layered piece into pieces and lay the pieces on their sides. This process creates these unique and beautiful puddles This is a fantastic kaleidoscope because it has really clear and endless images. You turn the dish, which is on a swivel, and you can put anything you want into it. (well, maybe not an elephant!) I am including a starter kit which has seashells, colored feathers, beads, charms (carousel horse, dog, dragonfly, hummingbird, tree of life, etc.) and other things.
